November 2006 - The site as we purchased it; the natural contours of the property were very conducive to a nice miniature golf course, and it was easy to envision a finished “Chuckster’s” here.

April 5, 2007 - Step one is to strip the loam off the golf course site.

April 5, 2007 - The loam needs to be removed from the site, and fill brought in to do the rough grading for the golf course. At this time, we’re waiting for the seasonal ban to be lifted on using Bailey Road with the heavy trucks necessary to do this.

April 5, 2007 - The interior of the kitchen has been gutted, in preparation to rebuild it for our purposes.

April 6, 2007 - The course came together faster than we thought and will be ready for play by this weekend. (Just kidding—this is a different course that Harris has built, and we expect ours to be one of the best ever built)

By the way, the WORLD'S LONGEST HOLE is complete and it will be possible to get a hole-in-one on it; we will not be showing sneak previews of it; you'll have to come see it for yourself.

you!

June 15 - Batting cages are being built as quickly as possible and should open on Saturday, June 30.

June 15 - Here's some statistics to show you we're serious about this being the coolest course you've ever played:
• 12,000sf of carpet will cover the fairways and greens; most
    courses use about 6,000 sf
• Over 1,000 tons of boulders were used in the construction of
the course (hope you like rock)
• 4,600 bricks will line the fairways
• Our 201-foot-long hole will be 14 feet longer than the
previous "longest hole in the world"

June 15 - 16 rolls of course carpeting being delivered; installation begins Monday.

June 18 - Our covered bridge is done and it's awesome. Thanks again to A&B Lumber on Route 106 in Pembroke for designing it and donating the materials for it, and thanks to Phil and his family for building it for us. We're convinced that if there is ever a hurricane, flood, fire, tornado, earthquake, and explosion all at once at Chucksters, the safest place to be is on the bridge; it will be the last thing left standing.

June 18 - The carpeting crew arrived from Florida and began installing carpet on the lower holes, making the course look more like a course.

June 18 - The Clubhouse is coming along and will be a nice, rustic place to begin your round.

June 21 - Carpeting is done, landscaping is beautiful, with even more finishing touches coming...

June 22 - One day prior to opening, the waterfalls were turned on and tested for the first time. Fortunately they all work perfectly and add great sights and sounds to the course.

June 22 - Contractors worked until 11pm the night before opening to assure a good opening Saturday morning; special thanks to the Four Corners crew for "getting it done." Literally. (and to Justin for paying overtime to so many workers!)

June 23 - Opening day; the course was enjoyed by many hundreds of people. The most heard phrases from our guests were "this place is awesome!" and "this is the best course we've ever seen!"
Batting cages are being finished and will open this Saturday; a few more finishing touches on the course, entrance, and eating plaza, and then we can relax a bit while you enjoy our beautiful facility.

June 27 - Batting cages are being fenced in for Saturday's opening...

June 27 - The separate, private area for group outings and parties is being finished; we'll have a party tent available for use by groups next month.

June 27 - By popular demand, we put eight benches around the course for resting purposes.

June 27 - We had a drink machine installed in the gazebo so players can quench their thirst during their round.

June 27 - We installed a handwash sink on the outside of the clubhouse so if our younger guests need a quick cleanup after eating ice cream, it's just steps away...

June 29 - Batting cage net being installed after an all-nighter by the welders; cages opened on Saturday to many people's enjoyment and appearances by the Concord Quarry Dogs.

July 2007 and beyond...
Chucksters has become an instant hit with our community.

Special thanks to Justin, Tom, and the Four Corners crew, (great retaining walls, John!) Bill, Jeremy, Joe, Matt and the Harris crew, Alan from Automated Batting Cages, Anthony from A.C. Engineering, The Town of Chichester, Bill from Blake's Ice Cream, Jamie from Checkmate Pizza, Bob from A&B Lumber, Tom and Levi from McLaughlin Woods, Phil and the Pincince family, John from First Colebrook Bank, and to God, the giver of all good things.

Chucksters is open and awesome, but we are not done yet. We promise many improvements and little surprises here and there to make your repeat visits fresh and exciting. Please email us your expansion ideas, as we plan to develop several more acres for the 2008 season and add attractions and parking.
